Fixing should be carried out by experienced window fixers and in accordance with Ruskin Air Management standards.
Windows must be set plumb, level & free from twist – this is VERY important for correct functioning of the windows and actuators.
Frame sections are normally fixed with lugs where there is internal finish. (Figures 1-3)
Frame sections can also be fixed directly to the structure without lugs. (Figures 4-6) Fixing centres at maximum of 500-600 cross centres to jambs, head and cill and within 150mm of corners.
Ensure horizontal glazing bars are free of site debris & any other foreign bodies. To enable smooth running of the blades upon commissioning. (Figure 7)
For fixing into curtain wall and window systems, special frames are supplied glazing section surrounds. (Figure 8)
Couplings are accomplished with mullion or transom profiles typically shown on (Figure 9)
Bedding and pointing mastic application should be in accordance with good practice for fixing of commercial window systems and any proprietary sealants can be used.
In case of applications where lead or copper flashings are used we recommend that a check of the suitability of the sealant is carried out.
